The Education Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the academic excellence and operational effectiveness of Still I Rise International IB Schools. These include SIR International School Nairobi with over 200 students and 30 education team members and SIR International School Colombia which is a growing school with 8 teachers and  65 students.  This role provides strategic oversight of the SIR Educational Model and its connection with IB, manages educational operations across the schools and ensures strong collaboration with other departments to deliver integrated, high-quality programming. The Education Lead also drives project management within the Education Department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the 4 Pillars of Still I Rise.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Oversight

  • Support the Head of Education and IB Specialist in the implementation and evolution of the educational strategy.
  • Design, safeguard, and continuously improve the Still I Rise Educational Model based on the 4 Pillars.
  • Guide the local team to develop curriculum design, assessment systems for non-IB years.
  • Lead on implementation of all extracurricular activities (competitions, trips, clubs, education camps). 
  • Collaborate with the IB specialist to ensure a smooth transition to IB curriculum.
  • Develop policies and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all SIR Schools.

2. Teacher Development & Performance

  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and professional growth of education staff.
  • Co-design and implement the Professional Pathway for teachers in collaboration with the Education Department.
  • Provide guidance, training,  observations and  feedback to ensure consistent instructional quality.
  • Support interventions in pedagogy, inclusion, differentiation, and behavior management.
  • Supervise the implementation of Individualized Education Plans and targeted interventions and support in collaboration with the Inclusion team.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

3. Project Management and Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Programs for calendars, infrastructure, resources, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with CPS on student selection, case management, and safeguarding.
  • Work with Programs and CPS on policy review, ensuring holistic and consistent implementation.
  • Mentor and supervise school leaders, empowering them to manage programs with autonomy and effectiveness.
  • Represent the Education Department in cross-departmental calls, ensuring efficient information flow and accountability.
  • Write and disseminate regular reports on progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in school leadership, curriculum development, and project management.
  • Proven experience in management of education staff including teachers and leaders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of innovative, values and skills based pedagogies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, especially in cross-cultural environments
  • Fluency in English and proficient in Spanish.
  • Strong understanding of international frameworks (experience with IB is highly desirable).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven experience in cross-departmental collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and learning platforms used in global education.
  • Advanced degree in Education or related field (preferred).
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teachers in diverse educational contexts.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Experience designing or delivering professional development and mentoring programs.
